What a stunning essay, Nidhi! Read it from end to end with an invested heart. The journey of your book and friendship are interwoven so seamlessly✨ Paused at so many moments to marvel at the profoundness of your words and ideas💛
Oh Nidhi . How you talk about rejection and acceptance in the same breath and at so many levels . Defining life as we know it . There is so much resonance even if our experiences are different . Your soft voice is one of the boldest and I want to keep listening .
But i love this line “Because once they find it, they don’t have to look any more. Like finding a friend.” Hope your friends finds you again and hope you make new friends. (😂hope you have made them already)❤️
It’s so easy to be heartbroken. First by friends and then by people who judge you. I haven’t experienced the latter (yet), but I could completely relate to the former. What a beautiful story of experiencing loss and moving on.
Who, but an artist, can make rejection seem so bittersweet? There's just so much that I want to say about this essay has already been said, but it can't be said enough either! What a beautiful piece... the thoughts and inspiration here are going to stay with me for a long, long time.
Wow! That’s the first thing that came to mind! Your writing just pulled me in making me feel everything you were feeling about rejection and loss. You are an amazing writer and I am so glad to have made your acquaintance!! Loved every bit of this piece!!
Such a good essay. I love how simply it talks about complex and difficult things. And even though it’s about loss and rejection I don’t know how you’ve managed to make it feel hopeful.

Same Sanskriti! Knowing you, Nidhi, is a delight, a pleasure! You are anything but boring and we all know that so well ;)

I love this essay so much. Youve struck a chord and beautifully compared losing a friendship to
Manuscript rejections.
It’s filled me with hope about the possibility of finding homes for myself and my book in new spaces :).
